This Privacy Policy explains how iSellit (“iSellit”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our marketplace to buy, sell, or give away items. By creating an account or using iSellit, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly and information generated by using the platform:

• Account information — name, email address, phone number, password, and profile photo.
• Sign in with Google — if you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address and profile photo with us. We use them only to create and sign in to your iSellit account, and we never get your Google password.
• Seller information — for members who become sellers, we may collect payout details (bank account) and identity information needed to verify your seller account.
• Listings and messages — photos, videos, descriptions, and prices you post, and messages you exchange with other members through the app.
• Order and delivery information — items purchased, delivery address, and delivery status.
• Payment information — our payment processor (Paystack) handles and stores your card or bank details directly; iSellit does not store your full card number.
• Device and usage information — IP address, browser type, and how you interact with the app, collected automatically to keep the platform secure and working properly.

2. How we use your information

• To create and secure your account, including OTP verification by SMS or email.
• To operate the marketplace — publishing listings, processing orders, and arranging delivery.
• To process payments and seller payouts.
• To communicate with you about your orders, account, and platform updates.
• To detect fraud, abuse, and violations of our Member Agreement.
• To improve and support the iSellit platform.

3. Who we share information with

We share information only where needed to provide the service:

• Other members — your display name, profile photo, and listings are visible to other members; your delivery address is shared with the seller and courier for an order you place.
• Payment processors — Paystack, to process payments and payouts.
• Delivery partners — courier providers such as Fez Delivery, to fulfil and track deliveries.
• Service providers — providers who send SMS/OTP messages, email, and host our uploaded photos and videos on our behalf.
• Legal and safety — when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of iSellit and our members.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. You can request deletion of your account as described below.

5. Your rights

Subject to applicable data protection law (including the Nigeria Data Protection Act), you may request to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal information.
• Withdraw consent for optional communications at any time.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

iSellit is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email before they take effect.
