Terms of Service

Last updated October 6, 2026

Effective Date: October 6, 2026

Welcome to iSellit.

Buy Easy. Sell Smarter.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “you”, or “your”) and iSellit (“iSellit”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) governing your access to and use of the iSellit website, applications, marketplace, payment features, escrow services, communication tools and other services provided through the Platform.

By accessing, registering for, or using iSellit, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms of Service and the policies incorporated into them.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.

1. About iSellit

iSellit is an online marketplace designed to allow individuals and businesses to buy and sell new and used goods and services.

iSellit provides the technology and infrastructure that allows buyers and sellers to discover products, communicate, place orders, make payments, arrange delivery and resolve transaction-related issues.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, iSellit is not the seller, manufacturer, distributor or owner of products or services listed by independent sellers.

The contract for the sale of a particular product or service is generally between the buyer and the seller.

2. Acceptance of These Terms

By using iSellit, you agree to:

The iSellit Member Agreement currently sets out the applicable buyer and seller terms until standalone Buyer and Seller policies are published. These documents form part of your agreement with iSellit.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use iSellit.

You agree to provide accurate and truthful information when creating an account or completing a transaction.

iSellit may impose additional verification or eligibility requirements for particular services.

4. Account Registration

Certain Platform features require an account.

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate registration information;
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login details;
  • Keeping your account information up to date;
  • Preventing unauthorized access to your account; and
  • All activities carried out through your account.

You must notify iSellit promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

You must not sell, transfer or share your iSellit account without our authorization.

5. Marketplace Services

iSellit provides a platform through which sellers can list goods and services and buyers can purchase them.

Sellers are responsible for the accuracy, legality, quality, condition, safety and fulfilment of their listings.

iSellit does not guarantee that:

  • A listed product is available;
  • A seller will complete a transaction;
  • A product is authentic;
  • A product will meet the buyer's expectations;
  • A seller or buyer will behave lawfully; or
  • Every listing is completely accurate.

iSellit may take reasonable measures to detect and address fraudulent or misleading listings.

6. Product and Service Listings

Sellers must provide accurate information about every product or service they list.

Listings must clearly communicate relevant information including:

  • Product or service description;
  • Price;
  • Condition;
  • Quantity;
  • Specifications;
  • Defects;
  • Used or refurbished status;
  • Delivery information; and
  • Any material limitations or conditions.

Sellers must not intentionally provide false, misleading or deceptive information.

7. Used and Refurbished Goods

Sellers listing used, second-hand, refurbished or reconditioned products must clearly disclose their condition.

Material defects, significant wear, missing components or other information that could reasonably influence a buyer's decision should be disclosed.

8. Orders

When a buyer places an order through iSellit, the transaction may be subject to seller acceptance, availability, payment verification and other applicable conditions.

Once an order is accepted and payment has been successfully processed, the seller is expected to fulfil the order in accordance with the listing and applicable iSellit policies.

9. Payments

Payments must be made through payment methods supported by iSellit.

iSellit may use third-party payment providers, including Paystack, to process transactions.

The availability of a particular payment method may vary depending on the transaction, location, product, seller or payment provider.

Users must not use fraudulent payment methods or attempt to manipulate payment processing.

10. Escrow System

For transactions covered by iSellit's escrow system, the buyer's payment may be held securely pending completion of the transaction.

The general transaction process is:

Buyer pays → Payment is held → Seller fulfils order → Buyer receives item → Buyer inspects item → Buyer confirms satisfactory receipt or inspection period expires → Seller payment is released.

The seller's funds may be withheld where:

  • A buyer has opened a valid dispute;
  • A refund is being considered;
  • Fraud or suspicious activity is suspected;
  • The transaction is under investigation;
  • A chargeback or payment reversal occurs; or
  • Applicable law or payment-provider requirements require a hold.

The detailed rules governing escrow are contained in the iSellit Refund, Escrow & Buyer Protection Policy.

11. Seller Payouts

Funds becoming available to a seller does not necessarily mean that an immediate bank transfer will occur.

Seller payouts may be subject to:

  • Applicable fees;
  • Payment-provider processing;
  • Verification;
  • Refunds;
  • Disputes;
  • Chargebacks;
  • Fraud reviews;
  • Account restrictions; and
  • Other applicable settlement requirements.

12. Buyer Protection

iSellit may provide buyer protection for eligible transactions.

A buyer may be entitled to seek assistance where:

  • An order is not delivered;
  • The wrong item is delivered;
  • The item materially differs from the listing;
  • Material undisclosed damage is discovered;
  • Required components are missing; or
  • Other circumstances qualify under iSellit's Refund & Escrow Policy.

Buyer protection does not guarantee a refund in every situation.

13. Refunds and Returns

Refunds and returns are governed by the iSellit Refund, Escrow & Buyer Protection Policy.

A buyer may be required to provide evidence and return an item before a refund is issued.

Refunds may be subject to the payment provider's processing times.

Nothing in this section is intended to remove any mandatory consumer rights available under applicable law.

14. Disputes

Where a dispute occurs between a buyer and seller, users should first attempt to resolve the matter through the iSellit Platform.

If the matter cannot be resolved, iSellit may review the dispute.

Evidence may include:

  • Listing information;
  • Order records;
  • Payment records;
  • Delivery information;
  • Tracking records;
  • Photographs;
  • Videos;
  • Messages;
  • Return records; and
  • Other relevant information.

Following its review, iSellit may determine whether funds should be released, refunded, returned or otherwise handled in accordance with its policies and applicable law.

15. Seller Responsibilities

Sellers agree to:

  • List only goods and services they have the right to sell;
  • Provide truthful descriptions;
  • Disclose material defects;
  • Fulfil accepted orders;
  • Package products appropriately;
  • Provide accurate delivery information;
  • Cooperate with disputes;
  • Comply with applicable laws; and
  • Follow iSellit's Seller Agreement.

16. Buyer Responsibilities

Buyers agree to:

  • Review listings carefully;
  • Provide accurate delivery information;
  • Pay through approved payment methods;
  • Inspect purchases promptly;
  • Report qualifying problems within the applicable timeframe;
  • Provide truthful information during disputes;
  • Return products where required; and
  • Use the Platform responsibly.

17. Prohibited Activities

Users must not use iSellit to:

  • Commit fraud;
  • Sell stolen goods;
  • Sell counterfeit goods;
  • Sell prohibited products;
  • Launder money;
  • Manipulate transactions;
  • Manipulate reviews;
  • Create fraudulent accounts;
  • Submit false refund claims;
  • Circumvent escrow;
  • Circumvent Platform fees;
  • Misrepresent products;
  • Harass or threaten other users;
  • Upload malicious software;
  • Infringe intellectual-property rights;
  • Conduct unlawful activities; or
  • Attempt to compromise Platform security.

iSellit may remove listings and restrict accounts that violate these rules.

18. Off-Platform Transactions

Users should not move transactions initiated through iSellit to external payment channels for the purpose of avoiding iSellit fees, escrow procedures, verification or buyer/seller protections.

Transactions conducted outside iSellit's Platform may not be covered by iSellit's escrow or buyer-protection system.

19. Reviews and Ratings

Where reviews and ratings are available, they must represent genuine experiences.

Users must not:

  • Create fake reviews;
  • Purchase fraudulent reviews;
  • Manipulate ratings;
  • Threaten another user over a review; or
  • Use reviews to provide deliberately misleading information.

iSellit may remove reviews that violate its policies.

20. Intellectual Property

The iSellit name, logo, software, website, design, graphics, text and other Platform materials are owned by iSellit or its licensors.

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer or commercially exploit iSellit's intellectual property without permission.

By uploading listing photographs, descriptions, logos or other content, you confirm that you have the right to provide that content.

You grant iSellit a non-exclusive licence to use such content as reasonably necessary to operate, advertise and improve the Platform.

21. User Content

You remain responsible for content that you submit to iSellit.

Content must not:

  • Be unlawful;
  • Be fraudulent;
  • Infringe another person's rights;
  • Contain malware;
  • Be defamatory;
  • Be misleading; or
  • Violate iSellit's policies.

iSellit may remove or restrict content that violates these Terms.

22. Privacy

iSellit's collection and use of personal information is governed by the iSellit Privacy Policy.

By using the Platform, you acknowledge that your personal information may be processed as described in that Policy.

23. Third-Party Services

iSellit may rely on third-party providers for:

  • Payment processing;
  • Banking;
  • Identity verification;
  • Delivery;
  • Hosting;
  • Communications;
  • Analytics;
  • Security; and
  • Other Platform functions.

Third-party services may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies.

24. Platform Availability

iSellit will make reasonable efforts to maintain the Platform.

However, we do not guarantee that the Platform will always be:

  • Available;
  • Secure;
  • Error-free;
  • Uninterrupted; or
  • Free from technical problems.

The Platform may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, upgrades, technical problems, security incidents or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

25. Account Suspension and Termination

iSellit may suspend, restrict or terminate an account where reasonably necessary, including where a user:

  • Violates these Terms;
  • Engages in fraud;
  • Provides false information;
  • Repeatedly violates marketplace policies;
  • Creates security risks;
  • Conducts unlawful activities;
  • Abuses refunds or disputes; or
  • Otherwise misuses the Platform.

Where appropriate, iSellit may also cancel or restrict affected transactions.

26. Consequences of Termination

If your account is terminated:

  • You may lose access to Platform features;
  • You may no longer create listings;
  • Pending transactions may be reviewed;
  • Funds may be held where reasonably necessary to resolve disputes, refunds, fraud concerns or legal obligations.

Termination does not automatically cancel obligations that arose before termination.

27. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, iSellit will not be responsible for losses arising directly from:

  • The independent conduct of buyers or sellers;
  • Inaccurate seller listings;
  • Product defects caused by sellers or manufacturers;
  • Fraud committed independently by users;
  • Third-party delivery failures;
  • Third-party payment-provider failures;
  • Events outside iSellit's reasonable control; or
  • Transactions conducted outside the Platform.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

28. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold iSellit, its officers, employees, contractors and service providers harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses arising from:

  • Your violation of these Terms;
  • Your unlawful conduct;
  • Fraudulent activity;
  • Your misuse of the Platform;
  • Your infringement of another person's rights; or
  • Your breach of applicable law.

29. Taxes

Users are responsible for understanding and complying with tax obligations arising from their use of iSellit.

Sellers are responsible for taxes, registrations, licences and other obligations applicable to their businesses or transactions.

iSellit does not provide individual tax advice.

30. Changes to the Terms

iSellit may update these Terms from time to time.

Where appropriate, material changes will be communicated through the Platform.

The updated Terms will become effective on the date specified in the updated version.

Your continued use of iSellit after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, subject to applicable law.

31. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to prevent a consumer from exercising a mandatory legal right available under applicable law.

32. Dispute Resolution

Where possible, users should first attempt to resolve disputes through iSellit's internal support and dispute-resolution process.

Where a dispute cannot be resolved through the Platform, the parties may pursue any remedies available under applicable Nigerian law.

Nothing in these Terms prevents a party from exercising a statutory or legally protected right.

33. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

34. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the policies and agreements incorporated by reference, constitute the agreement between you and iSellit concerning your use of the Platform.
