Refund, Escrow & Buyer Protection Policy

Last updated October 6, 2026

Effective Date: October 6, 2026

At iSellit, our goal is to make online buying and selling safer, easier, and more trustworthy.

iSellit – Buy Easy, Sell Smarter.

To protect both buyers and sellers, iSellit operates an escrow-based payment system. Payments made for eligible purchases are held securely by iSellit until the buyer receives the goods or services and the transaction is confirmed as satisfactory, subject to the terms of this policy.

1. How Our Escrow System Works

When a buyer purchases an item through iSellit:

  • The buyer makes payment through the available payment options on iSellit.
  • The payment is held in escrow and is not immediately released to the seller.
  • The seller is notified that payment has been received and is authorized to proceed with delivery or fulfilment.
  • The seller ships or delivers the item to the buyer using the agreed delivery method.
  • The buyer receives and inspects the item to confirm that it is substantially as described in the listing.
  • The buyer confirms receipt and satisfaction, or the applicable inspection period expires without a dispute.
  • The payment is released to the seller's account in accordance with iSellit's payment and settlement procedures.

This system is designed to reduce the risk of fraud and provide both parties with greater confidence when completing transactions.

2. When Payment Is Released to the Seller

Payment will normally be made available to the seller after:

  • The buyer confirms that the item has been received in good condition;
  • The item substantially matches the description provided by the seller;
  • The buyer does not report a valid problem within the applicable inspection period; or
  • A dispute has been reviewed and resolved in the seller's favour.

Where applicable, iSellit may impose a reasonable settlement or processing period before funds become available for withdrawal.

Important: Sellers must not request or encourage buyers to make payments outside the iSellit platform for transactions initiated through iSellit. Payments made outside the platform may not qualify for iSellit's escrow and buyer-protection procedures.

3. Buyer Inspection Period

Buyers should inspect their purchases as soon as they receive them.

The buyer should check that:

  • The correct item was delivered;
  • The item is substantially as described in the listing;
  • The quantity is correct;
  • The item is not materially damaged;
  • Any advertised accessories or components are included; and
  • The item meets any other material conditions stated in the listing.

Buyers should report any problem through the iSellit platform as soon as possible and within 24 hours (1 day) of delivery. If no dispute is raised within this window, the order may be automatically confirmed and payment released to the seller.

4. When a Buyer May Request a Refund

A buyer may be eligible for a refund where:

  • The item was not delivered;
  • The wrong item was delivered;
  • The item is materially different from the seller's description;
  • The item arrived materially damaged and the damage was not disclosed before purchase;
  • A required component or accessory is missing;
  • The seller materially failed to fulfil the agreed transaction; or
  • The transaction is found to involve fraud or a serious violation of iSellit's marketplace rules.

Refund eligibility may depend on the nature of the transaction, the evidence provided, and the terms of the particular listing.

5. Items That Are Not Eligible for a Refund

A refund may not be available where:

  • The buyer simply changes their mind, unless the seller's listing or applicable law provides otherwise;
  • The buyer ordered the wrong item, size, colour, specification, or quantity;
  • The buyer has used, damaged, modified, or altered the item after delivery;
  • The buyer fails to report a qualifying problem within the applicable inspection period;
  • The item was accurately described and is substantially as advertised;
  • The buyer refuses delivery without a valid reason;
  • The buyer and seller have agreed to different return terms that are permitted under iSellit's policies; or
  • The transaction involves a product or service excluded from iSellit's refund or buyer-protection programme.

Nothing in this policy removes any rights a buyer may have under applicable consumer-protection laws.

6. Starting a Refund or Dispute

If a buyer believes that an order qualifies for a refund, the buyer should:

  • Log in to their iSellit account.
  • Open the relevant order.
  • Select the appropriate Report a problem / Dispute option.
  • Clearly explain the problem.
  • Provide photographs, videos, delivery records, messages, or other relevant evidence where requested.
  • Return the item when instructed, where a return is required.

Buyers should not return an item to the seller without following iSellit's dispute or return instructions where doing so could affect the resolution of the transaction. Filing a dispute freezes the escrow payment for that order until the matter is resolved.

7. Dispute Resolution

If a buyer and seller cannot resolve an issue themselves, either party may request iSellit's intervention.

iSellit may review:

  • The original product listing;
  • Order and payment information;
  • Communications between the buyer and seller conducted through the platform;
  • Delivery and tracking information;
  • Photographs or videos;
  • Evidence submitted by either party;
  • Return information; and
  • Any other information reasonably necessary to determine the outcome.

After reviewing the available evidence, iSellit may decide to:

  • Release the funds to the seller;
  • Refund all or part of the buyer's payment;
  • Require the item to be returned;
  • Require the seller to replace or otherwise rectify the issue; or
  • Take another appropriate action permitted under iSellit's marketplace rules.

iSellit's decision under its internal dispute process will be based on the information and evidence available to iSellit at the time of review.

8. Returns

Where a return is approved, the buyer may be required to return the item within the specified timeframe and in the condition required by iSellit.

Depending on the circumstances, return shipping costs may be paid by:

  • The seller, where the seller is responsible for the problem;
  • The buyer, where the buyer is responsible for the return; or
  • Another party as determined by iSellit or agreed between the parties.

The buyer may be required to provide valid proof of return shipment.

9. Refund Processing

Once a refund is approved, iSellit will initiate the refund using the applicable payment method or another available method.

The time required for the refunded funds to appear in the buyer's account may depend on the payment provider, bank, card issuer, or other financial institution involved.

Processing times therefore may vary and are not entirely controlled by iSellit.

10. Services

For transactions involving services rather than physical goods, payment may remain in escrow until the agreed service has been completed or the applicable service-confirmation period has expired.

The specific refund conditions for a service may depend on:

  • The service description;
  • The agreed terms between the parties;
  • The stage of completion;
  • Whether the service was delivered as described; and
  • Evidence provided during a dispute.

11. Fraud, Abuse and Prohibited Transactions

iSellit reserves the right to investigate transactions that appear fraudulent, suspicious, abusive, or inconsistent with marketplace rules.

Where appropriate, iSellit may:

  • Temporarily hold funds;
  • Suspend or restrict an account;
  • Cancel a transaction;
  • Refund a buyer;
  • Withhold or delay seller settlement;
  • Remove a listing; or
  • Take other appropriate action permitted by law and iSellit's Terms and Conditions.

Users must not attempt to manipulate the escrow system, submit false claims, provide misleading evidence, or deliberately damage goods in order to obtain a refund.

12. Seller Responsibilities

Sellers are responsible for ensuring that:

  • Product descriptions are accurate and complete;
  • Images accurately represent the item;
  • The condition of used goods is clearly disclosed;
  • Items are properly packaged for delivery;
  • Orders are shipped within the stated processing time;
  • Tracking information is provided where available; and
  • The item delivered matches the listing.

Repeated failure to meet these requirements may result in account restrictions or other action.

13. Buyer Responsibilities

Buyers are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate delivery information;
  • Inspecting purchases promptly after delivery;
  • Reporting problems within the applicable timeframe;
  • Providing truthful and complete information during disputes;
  • Returning items when required; and
  • Not abusing the refund or dispute process.

14. Escrow Limitations

The iSellit escrow system is intended to facilitate safer transactions but does not eliminate every risk associated with online commerce.

iSellit may place a hold on funds where a transaction is under investigation, subject to applicable law and the circumstances of the transaction.

iSellit is not responsible for delays caused by banks, payment processors, logistics companies, force majeure events, or other circumstances outside its reasonable control.

This policy should be read together with the iSellit Terms of Service and the Member Agreement.

15. Policy Changes

iSellit may update this Refund, Escrow & Buyer Protection Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, marketplace operations, payment systems, or applicable laws.

The updated policy will be published on the iSellit website and will become effective on the date stated in the updated policy.
